Philip Ferreira

Philip came to Splash looking for a site to provide information on his hair salon and shows. After determining his goals, we designed a fresh, modern site that would put important information at the fingertips of visitors while still maintaining the visually stunning aesthetic that would be expected of an internationally acclaimed stylist. By using a neutral colour palate, we ensured that the bold, vivid photos would take centre stage without clashing with surrounding elements. Under the hood, the updating and editing of content is made easy through the integration of a custom content management system.

Claremont Secondary School

The primary criteria for this site was that visitors could have quick, easy access to the main areas of the site, frequently viewed pages, and news items. After analyzing the visual and usability problems of their existing site, we created a simple, classy look for the site that presented the important information in a straightforward, readable way. We also ensured that the important information would appear "above the fold", even on a lower resolution display.

Essentials

Essentials, a bath product business, was looking for a site that would provide potential customers with information on the company and the products. Through the use of a soft colour palate, careful typography, and a clean, spacious layout, we were able to communicate the luxury and elegance that the client felt about their products.

Julie Taylor

Julie Taylor came to Splash in search of a site to promote her self-designed clothing line to stores across Canada and the US. Her primary request was that the site should contain the elements of the company's brand, and should convey the same youthful yet elegant feeling as the clothing itself. Our design delivered on this goal by making use of a modern yet feminine colour scheme and allowing visitors to view the clothing items together in complete outfits – a feature that many companies fail to provide.

iLearn

We designed this award-winning web application from top to bottom, paying close attention to the creation of a highly usable interface with as little of a learning curve as possible. Because the target audience was middle and high school students, simplicity was our guiding principle as we created iLearn. However, we also knew that in order to appeal to this age group, the visual design had to make use of bright colours and inviting icons.

The Style File

Fun. Modern. Stylish. These words have frequently been used to describe the site we designed for the Style File System, an image-consulting company. With a book about to be published and ever-increasing demand for their services, the Style File wanted their site to portray their enthusiasm for fashion. We delivered on this request by creating a fun, offbeat visual design and a striking colour scheme, as well as a clearly defined – yet expandable and adaptable – information architecture. To allow the site's content to be quickly and easily updated, we also provided the Style File with a custom content management system.

Eaglecrest Bed and Breakfast

For Eaglecrest Bed and Breakfast, we paired an easy-to-navigate interface with an elegant colour scheme and clean, modern typography in order to best convey the relaxing feel of the brand-new bed and breakfast. We ensured that the structure of the site would easily accommodate changes, additions, and that the content could be easily updated without requiring a full-fledged content management system.
